The most in-demand IT areas in Portugal and Brazil: data analysis by iTRecruiter
Over the last three months, our internal recruitment system, Diana, processed 362 IT job openings from iTRecruiter and received a total of 4,922 applications. These figures reflect the real pulse of the market where we operate in Portugal and Brazil and offer a clear view of the skills that companies are currently requesting the most.
Which IT areas have the most open positions right now?
The demand for specific technical skills remains high in key segments. Back-end development leads our volume of vacancies with 28 open positions, representing 8% of the total. Right behind, we observe a constant demand for Cloud and Infrastructure specialists with 18 vacancies, closely followed by Data Engineering with 17 vacancies. These three pillars account for a considerable part of our daily recruitment efforts.
We also recorded significant demand for Information Security with 13 vacancies and SAP with 12 vacancies. Areas such as Software Architecture, Fullstack Developer, and Product Management complete the group of the most sought-after, each with 8 open positions. This distribution shows that companies continue to prioritize the stability of their infrastructures and data processing capabilities over other more generalist skills.
Where and how do IT professionals work?
The work model continues to be a decisive factor in our negotiations. From the data extracted from Diana, we verified that the hybrid model dominates the market with 284 vacancies, corresponding to 78% of the total. Remote work still maintains a relevant presence with 71 vacancies, or 20% of the total volume. The on-site model is a rare exception, representing only 2% of our open positions, with just 6 vacancies in the period.
These numbers reveal that the balance between on-site collaboration and the flexibility of remote work is the preferred standard for the companies we work with. For those looking for a new opportunity, understanding this preference for the hybrid model is essential to align expectations in applications. For companies, this scenario requires a clear structure regarding the purpose of days spent in the office, since flexibility is a requirement that most candidates are unwilling to compromise on.
